Interestingly, there are over three hundred mentions of anxiety and worry in the bible by Jesus Christ. Jesus was telling us to put our trust in God and not to worry because it will do us no good. Read through the book of Luke 12:22-23
“Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you”
Anxiety, Stress, Worry, or whatever name you decide to call it will only hinder you from getting whatever you wish , including pregnancy. Why?, because it shows lack of trust in Him. ” …be anxious for nothing…”, relax!, don’t worry yourself over something you cannot change, leave it to God!.
According to Study, Anxiety, Stress, Pressure can affect the performance of the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is a section of the brain responsible for hormone production. Wikipedia and health line says one of the most important function of the hypothalamus is to link the nervous system to the endocrine system. The hormone production of this area of brain govern body temperature, thirst, hunger, moods, sex drive and the release of other hormones in the body. It also has its connection with the ovaries, testes, thyroid gland etc.
Why would you allow anxiety to delay you from achieving pregnancy?
When you are anxious, stressed, pressured, most of the time, your ovulation period comes earlier or later than usual and you might be targeting the usual for mating with your partner. Though most people might go through the daily stress and nothing changes, for others, anything can change that.
If you are trying to conceive and you are under pressure, your cervical water (wetness) is likely to give you a sign that something is not right. Instead of getting moisture as you approach ovulation, you might have dry days with patches of wetness, which makes it impossible to get pregnant.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Phil. 4:6
Anxiety, pressure, stress etc might alter your normal ovulation period. And when altered, your chances of getting pregnant might be delayed again in that month. So what do you do?, Relax!, don’t worry yourself to that point. Learn to leave it to God!
